Honda’s most recent generation of prelude, the 5th generation Honda Prelude, is a masterpiece on wheels. The preface was originally introduced in 1979, which was Honda’s first try to design a reliable and exciting sports automobile. After 2 great decades, the two-door sport coupe still enjoys wide renown and attention among the Honda lineup. Built on powerful handling, drivability, and often equipped with the strongest engines, it’s hard not to take another look at this automobile.
Fuel injection, four wheel drive and Active Torque Transfer System are a few of the exciting new technologies in the Honda preface. It’s also the first Honda model to have the VTEC variable valve technology.
The 5th and final generation was introduced from 1997 and sold from 1997 to 2002. It was the biggest, heaviest and the most dynamic compared to any of its previous models. The fifth generation Honda prelude has 2 available trim levels : type SH and base. The preface has a 2.2L four cylinder engine with VTEC Technology and five-speed manual transmission, you can decide to opt for four speed automatic option if you prefer.
Other features include 16-inch amalgamate wheels, cruise control, ABS, a moon roof, power windows, mirrors and locks. The type SH model has the Active Torque Transfer system to immediately distribute torque to outside drive and minimize under steer. The Type SH is considered as one of the best handling cars in its class. Fast, balanced, and cosy, it is actually the driver’s car. The interiors are straightforward and modest, comfortable, though they are not available in leather trim and have limited adjustability.
