Car Dealers - Car Shopping Advice For All

I feel like I have spent the past year searching for a new car. In reality it has only been a few months, but I think it seems like longer due to the intense amount of effort that has gone into finding the perfect vehicle for the perfect price. If we hadn’t been so restricted by our budget the perfect car would probably have been found much sooner, but we decided to hold out and see if we could find what we wanted for a lower price than was commonly available.

As such, I know how to shop for a car very well. If it is available I have tried and tested it – and I have discovered whether or not it is actually worth bothering with at all. If you want to know best practise for searching for a car, then this is the process that I think you should follow.

First, do your research. I would recommend that you really put the effort in when trying to find out what you want. This really isn’t a place to only put in minimal effort – because if you choose the wrong thing and shell out your hard earned cash on it you will be bound to regret it further down the line. Start off by putting together a list of cars and models that you would be like – brands, number of doors and all the other things that you need them to have. It is always a good idea to support this list by checking out reviews and ratings on well known car dealers sites – they should be able to give honest information and warn you of potential pitfalls to look for when you actually start looking at cars. You will probably end up with a list of cars that you are interested in – or you may even just have a single model that you want. I find it better to have a few options in order to make it easier to find something – but if you know what you want then why not stick with it!

Research done, head onto the internet to identify some particular car dealers that may be of interest. Start off using sites like Autotrader and eBay, and then narrow down your search to the specific car dealers websites. I find that searching through a long lists of cars for sale is the best place to start, but when it comes down to it you want to investigate dealers websites to find out what offers, finance deals and other such little bits and piece they have. I also found that cars I hadn’t come across when searching the classified were available on the car dealers sites directly… just to make everything more complicated!

Once you have found cars that fit in your budget and which match all your requirements, the very next thing to do is go and look at them. Thoroughly check them out (making sure to especially check areas that you have identified as potential problem spots in that model) and ask lots of questions. Also check out the service history for anything useful. Then, finally, take it out for a test drive and see how it feels – because if you like it you are going to have to haggle and then hopefully buy it!

Car and van leasing is very popular today. It has been used for both commercial and personal leasing options and it could be a good option for you if you need a new vehicle and don’t want to buy one. If you are thinking of leasing a new vehicle but you can’t decide between a car or a van, here are some tips and ideas to help you out.

To determine which is best for you, consider important points such as what you will be using the vehicle for, how often you will be driving it and who will be transported in it. All of these factors will add up to you making your final decision about the vehicle choice that meets your needs the best.

For example, sometimes businesses decide that a van is a better use because they need to carry large things in it or they need to transport multiple people for testing, for relocating to different work areas or other needs that require a larger vehicle.

Another company may decide to lease a car because it’s better on gas mileage and there is no need for carrying large loads. Most cars only seat 5 people so any family with more than 3 children would have difficultly. This is why a van can fill an important need for some families.

Another reason why you may need a van is if you have to transport someone who is handicapped or needs special medical equipment to be taken around where they go. If you or family members participate in sports and other activities, you may need the extra room that a van can provide so that you can bring equipment with you.

But maybe you don’t want to buy a van or you can’t afford to buy one right now. Maybe you need a van but you want to avoid the depreciation that happens often with vans. By the time you finish paying it off, it will have already greatly decreased in value. But when you choose to contract hire and leasing instead, you can trade it in at the end of your lease term for a newer model if you still need a van.

These Gadgets Help In The Car

There are so many gadgets out there for the car that it can often be very hard to keep track of them and people take them for granted. Why do we not have a bit more of a look at the best ones.

The iPod Charger/ Player

The first thing I do when I step into my Audi Q5 is to plug my pod into the speakers and select shuffle. This is one of the best ways to listen to really decent music without having to listen to the boring adverts that we face everyday when listening to the normal radio stations.

Electric Windows

What on earth would we do without those electric windows? Having to pull the car over every single time the windows are in need of a roll down is a bit of a chore so thank goodness we have these electronic systems! Although the one problem with these windows is you are truly stuffed if they break because there are no manual controls.

Cup Holders

Although it has been said that cup holders are one of the most dangerous things to have in the car, we would be a bit buggered without them. We would be spilling drinks left, right and centre if it wasn’t for these, especially the Americans and the people in those fancy Audi TT Roadster.

Parking Sensors

People will always take advantage of these handy things when reversing into a space. If you this installed in the back of your car then the chances are that when you are reversing into a space you do not bother looking in the correct way. Well if your new Audi parking sensors break and you smash up your car you cant blame anyone other than yourself.

These are not the only car gadgets that we actually take for granted but it is safe to say that these are the ones that are most used in the world. So there you have it, the next time you are operating a gadget in your car, do not take it for granted.

Slashing Tyres Is Not A Good Idea

Slashing tyres is a very low thing to do and is something that is awful to do to someone's car. Why is this though and more importantly, why do people even bother?

Why Do People Think it Is Funny

So many people do stupid things before they even think about them and others just think that things like this are funny. Of course they do not. There is going to be no doubt that people are going to be late for work because of this. How about the parents that need to take their kids to school? How about the bill that it is going to cost to replace it?

Tyres are certainly not cheap, not by any means, can you think about if you had all four let down@. What about people that are really struggling with their money, how are they going to be able to afford to pay for this?

With things like this there is hardly ever a real reason behind it all, people just do it because they can. Of course if you are always shouting ad your neighbours and telling them how your fancy contract hire car is much better than theirs, you kind of have it coming to you. if you are being a bit of an ass to everyone in the street then you kind of have it coming to youqIf you are not liked in the street because you are a bit of an ass to everyone then it is hardly surprising that this will happen to you.

It Is A Crime

The thing to keep in mind is that this is a crim and if caught doing it you will be punished. Contact the police is you know who is doing it, they will do something. Make sure that if you do know who has done it that you do not get them back, it was start a battle.

So whether its those van leasing tyres or you have gotten your car from bad credit car loans it is never fun to have the tyre slashed.

The Gadgets In Your Car: Do They Distract You?

We all know that in the UK we are not allowed to actually text, tweet, or tap away on any other social sites when we are driving which of course is very understandable indeed but if this is all true why are we allowed to be staring into our Sat Nav screens when we are driving? My personal opinion is that this is just as bad as some of the other things?


The Dangers

The biggest danger seems to come when people are very lost and are spending more time on the Sat Nav screen than the roads. Other people around you need to be thought about too, you will not just be injuring yourself if you make a mistake. If you have a passenger with you then simply get them to take a look and tell you where you are going, if you have not got someone simply pull over and look at the screen!


Easier

Of course having a Sat Nav in the car is going to make your life easier and this is the same for other gadgets like the one that allows you to play your iPod in the car and things like this but this doesn’t mean that you should always rely on them. Rely on your instincts that you had before all of these gadgets were installed, you will find them to be far more useful. If you do have a crash because you were not paying attention  you will be looking at your next car from the viewpoint of someone whtat has bad credit car finance and you will need bad credit car loans.

Gap insurance will help you out on something like this but the best advice that I can personally give you is never take your eyes off of the road under any circumstances.

Should You Restore That Classic Car or Not?

A lot of antique or classic automobile lovers who try to refurbish cars do so because of their affection for that car and what it means to them. Quite a few also do it purely for the challenge and personal satisfaction that they get when they restore an object to its former glory. Antique car prices are continually rising, and although it’s possible to make money restoring and selling antique autos, few do it for the money alone.

If this is the first time that you have tried to restore a classic automobile, here are a few pointers to save you money and aggravation before you lose yourself in your hobby.

It’s important that prior to starting to work on the car and particularly prior to you spending a bit of cash on it, that you take a close look at the automobile and  ascertain precisely the amount of restoration you want to perform on it. Do you want to restore it to EXACTLY the state it was in when it came off the assembly line? Do you simply want to restore the shell and interior of the car to its former state, but otherwise completely modify and soup up  the engine and internal parts? And, do you want the car to be driveable or do you simply want a showcase car? The time to answer these questions is now, before you even begin to think about going forward.

Once you possess all of the answers from step one, you need to make an approximation of all of the materials and components that you’ll need in order to refurbish the car to its desired state – and write them down or put them in your computer. Of course, you can’t know everything that needs to be done until you actually get under the hood and start to work with the body, but do the best you can with the information that you have.

If you don’t possess the mechanical skills to perform the inspection on your own, , you’ll have to find or hire someone to do it for you. If you are lucky, and happen to live close to an auto restoration shop, you can often get one of their mechanics to make a house call and inspect your car for a small fee.

Now find a good classic car price guide or a respected automobile restoration expert and begin pricing the replacement car parts. And don’t forget online research. The prices of many car parts can be found on the Internet.

Once you’ve reached this point, you’ll have a pretty good handle of the costs and you’ll be able to make the decision to go ahead with the restoration or not.,

Don’t Let Your Antique Car Expenses Become A Money Pit

When you restore an antique auto, you have the option of performing the restoration work yourself or having someone else do it.

If you have decide to let your local automobile shop handle the actual restoration, you will need to price the labor costs. This may take a bit of time. Then, when you are all done, enter your cost figures into a spreadsheet and calculate your estimated total restoration costs. Finally, just to be conservative and to account for unexpected repairs and cost overruns, add an additional 50% to the total. The final tally may shock you. But at the very least you won’t be surprised when money begins to drain from your checking account.

Here are a few of the complications you may encounter as you attempt to evaluate classic car and price parts:

Many times, you won’t be able to locate all of the parts that you require. That’s not out of the ordinary. Car parts become available when they become available, and some antique car parts are extremely rare. It this is the case you will either have to settle for a substitute part or wait for an authentic part to hit the market.

You may find the perfect car part that you need but it’s in another city or state and needs to be shipped to you. Make sure you include shipping prices in your parts estimates. Some people and companies use transportation costs as profit centers and the resulting price may be more than you expected.

Everybody knows that, normally, that last thing that you want on your car is rust. However, body rust on the body of an antique car is not something to be overly obsessed about. After all, you are restoring the automobile. However, if the rust is on structural parts, it can bust a hole in your budget big enough to sink the entire restoration project. So make a special note to look for evidence to look for rust in the wheel arches, roof pillars, floor, and so on.

For those of us who love cars, even though classic car pricing continues to rise, finding and restoring antique autos can be one of the most enjoyable hobbies around. Just be sure that you don’t go broke while enjoying it.

Ghost Ticketing- What Is It?

Here in the UK it has to be said that most of the population are in union when it comes to disliking Traffic Wardens, something to do with them enjoying their job I think. However many councils here in the UK have got another method of catching you parking illegally that is unfair and has several flaws.

Ghost ticketing is when a council will use their CCTV cameras to actually catch someone that is parked illegally and issue them the ticket in that way. They are looking to do this partly because hiring a private firm is expensive and partly because doing it this way gives them a higher chance to catch someone which of course in turn gives them more money.

Why is this a bad thing?

There seem to be several flaws to the method and the main one is, what if you are disabled? So the councils that are already participating in these schemes have already stated it is going to be very tough to check each car for a blue badge, well that’s not a waste of time and money then. This is not fair at all for the person that is disabled, they then have to go out of their way to cancel the fine.

Aren’t These Meant For Crime Prevention?

Surely with all of these cameras looking out for parked cars they are going to be missing crimes that occur. This is not a good thing at all and it will be interesting to see if the crime rate rockets because of this scheme.

Fair

It is hard for people to argue against this form of ticket because they will not even know about it until it comes through the letterbox. Surely this means that people are likely to actually forget the date and time, not fair if they actually had an excuse.

All of this is not going to help you when looking for bad credit car loans as well as cheap lease cars. Parking tickets do also not help when looking for specific deals like Gap Insurance.

New Campaign Has Been Announced: Ban Old People From Driving

Some older people have been thrown into the mix when it comes to driving as many people want them to be banned. There are plenty of elderly people out there that are more than capable of actually driving which is why they should take a test before their license is just taken away.

Banning people from motorways is almost a bridge to this gap and old people do not need to be banned full stop, just from driving on the most dangerous roads. If this does eventually happen the best thing to do would still be a test because it isn’t fair on the good drivers not to be allowed on the roads. Stopping them from doing this could in fact stop them from driving over to see one of their family members or getting to the airport or anything along these lines. There is no way that is even fair.

On the other hand it could cut back accidents a lot because there do seem to be more and more accidents happening that are caused by old people not knowing what they are doing. I have to say that it can also be very fair to say that they are often not goign fast enough on a motorway and this is not a safe way to drive. Not only is this not fair on the drivers but it isn’t fair on the older people who get abused for it by the other people in their cars.

Another issue is that with banning old people from driving you are going to see a lot less bad credit car leasing and this isn’t a great thing because it will shut down a lot of businesses. Of course it will increase road safety.

Cheap Lease Cars and general Audi Leasing is most likely the best option to take for an elderly person, do you think it is best for them not to drive, I think we should give them a chance.

Last Month For The Car Scrappage

When it comes to doing something like buying a brand new car the recession has not helped when it comes to the confidence in people doing this. A new car is a big deal there is no doubt about that, but with many car companies raising their prices last year and more price increases on the way for this year, buyers really do not have anything special to look forward too.

The governments rather brilliant car scrappage scheme is nearly over which means you are going to start getting ripped off for a brand new car again so watch out for all of this.

The recession has also put many people into serious debt meaning that the only way they are going to be able to get a hold of a new car is through things like bad credit car loans and bad credit car finance and this usually tends to be a lot more expensive than if for example you were not in debt which sometimes isn’t fair.

Of course car leasing could be the solution to all of your problems and with a little help from something like gap insurance you could really look to save a lot of money. Car showrooms are also going to be more taxed which means a lot more buyers are going to be looking to source their cars from the web rather than the usual very pompous salesmen you find.

The main thing to remember is the recession is over and although you may still be suffering at the moment, things should be looking up in the near future. I would make the most of this current scrappage scheme because prices are going to increase from April onwards.
